All participants are requested to check in at the Conference Front Desk and pick up their badges and conference material. Participants should wear their name badges at all times while in the conference areas.

Presentation Guidelines

Oral Presentations

— All presentations will be delivered in English.

— The time allocated to each talk is 20 minutes. This includes time for questions and answers.

— Please note that all speakers must upload their talks to the session computer during the coffee or lunch breaks immediately before the session start time. An A/V technician or conference assistant will help authors on this task.

— IMPORTANT: Presenters on the first morning sessions that starts at 9:40 am are required to upload their talks to the session computers between 8 and 8:30 am. Presenters on the first afternoon session that starts at 2:30 pm, are required to upload their talks during lunch break.

— All talks should be in PowerPoint file format for your presentation.

— The computers provided use the Windows 7 64-bit operating system and the following programs will be installed and can be used to display your presentation:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Adobe Reader 11
  • Windows Media Player

Poster Sessions

— Each presenter will be provided with a poster board. Poster board size is 1.95 m x 95 cm in landscape orientation. Velcro tape will be provided to mount posters onto boards. No other mounting method will be allowed.

—  Your poster can be on display for the whole afternoon of your session date. Please ask the conference assistant at the registration desk to help you setup your poster. Authors are not required to stand by their posters all day, only at your designated session date from 6-8 pm.

There will be poster awards for the two best student posters, with a cash prize of 100.00 Canadadian dollars for the winner. A prestigious prize committee, names TBA, will judge the posters.

Food & Drink

Light refreshments will be served in the morning and afternoon breaks as well as during the poster sessions; lunches will be served daily from Tuesday to Friday. Please refer to the conference schedule for the times.

Registration fee covers attendance at all scientific sessions as well as the short course by Dr. Shoemaker, icebreaker, coffee breaks, lunches, and conference dinner. As mentioned before, please during your registration, indicate attendance.
