Observatories, remote sensing, data-driven modeling

Jérôme Gaillardet, IPGP Paris, France

This session aims at showing how observatory infrastructures can be used to constrain to bridge the cap between observations and modeling. A number of national and international initiatives have been recently developed to create networks of hydrological, ecological, critical zone observatories. We wish in this session to see how observatories may help advancing modeling and how modeling might be used to design observatories and chose the measurements that need to be acquired and at which frequency. We welcome contributions from different scientific approaches including hydrology, geochemistry, remote sensing and of course couples approaches.
